While on assignment with a surgical and medical instrument manufacturing client, Adecco associate Antonio learned about the Aspire Academy from his onsite manager.

After learning more, Antonio decided to pursue machine operator courses. The foundational skills course covered:

  • Computer basics
  • Industrial math
  • Basic machines, force, and motion
  • Measurement and precision measuring instruments
  • Print and diagram reading
  • Hand and power tools
  • Adhesives and fasteners
  • Properties of materials
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Quality programs

Taking courses outside of work hours makes for long days, but Antonio realized that the knowledge he was gaining could help ease the load of his day-to-day work. It paid off, because once he finished the 27-hour learning journey, he leveraged the certificate he earned to apply to a local state college. He was accepted into their CNC Machinist program and began pursuing an associate’s degree.

“These courses gave me the possibility to test myself and obtain basic knowledge that will be essential for college later,” Antonio said. “The fact that it was totally free and the way the platform is designed makes it very easy and I am so thankful for the opportunity.”

This 27-hour learning journey is available to associates like Antonio through our partnership with Foundation. The Foundation’s Aspire Academy brings more than 3,000 free online courses to our associates, to take on their own schedules outside of work. Learn more about the courses being offered.
