Improving English skills, improving opportunities

Less than two years ago, Adecco began a new partnership with our long-time client, a manufacturer of premier chocolates. They wanted to expand their free English as Second Language (ESL) program for their temporary workforce – and they needed our help.

The self-paced Babbel program provides our associates the chance to improve their English language skills on their own time. By strengthening their English, associates gain the autonomy to read machine screens and recipes, attend trainings, and complete additional job duties without needing a translator.

Originally offered to associates who held specific roles requiring English proficiency, the program has expanded to include all associates who have asked to take part.

Stronger language skills allow our associates to gain more marketable skills for internal career opportunities and for personal growth outside of work. In fact, 75% of associates who were offered permanent roles with our client last year had participated in the Babbel program.
