The challenge
Our client, a manufacturer of premier chocolates, experienced increased online shopping and eCommerce growth due to COVID-19. To ensure success, we worked together to develop a staffing strategy and solidified a pre-season peak plan.
Our approach
Due to our client’s distant campus location and below market pay rates, most of their contingent staff had long commutes, or used ride-sharing services, which impacted productivity and performance. As the master vendor at this location, Adecco developed a client-specific recruitment strategy to expand talent pools in the local market by increasing wages. We leveraged Adecco Analytics and market data to drive pay rate discussions and attract better quality talent by offering wages higher than competitors. Next, we implemented weekend shift scheduling based on supply and demand data to increase workforce availability. Lastly, we collaborated with our client to create a shared referral program which extended eligibility to Adecco associates and the client's full-time employees.
