At their largest site, our manufacturing client’s talent acquisition team faced a consistent challenge, high turnover and short tenure for new permanent placements.

From Day 1, our client offers a generous 150 hours of PTO to their new hires. Unfortunately, new employees would often abuse this, taking all of their paid time off before leaving within a few months.

To help, our team started a “referral-to-hire” program: If their team was unsure of a candidate, Adecco would first bring them on site as an associate, giving our client the opportunity to decide if they wanted to hire the candidate to their permanent workforce.

Eventually, our client realized the new permanent hires who first started with Adecco were staying longer than those recruited and immediately hired by our client’s team.

The decision was ultimately made to place all new manufacturing roles through Adecco’s temp-to-perm program, so today, most candidates are initially hired as associates for a minimum 60-day period and then converted.
