1950 - 1970

In 1957, Adia SA is founded by Henri Lavanchy in Switzerland.
In 1964, Ecco is founded in France by Philippe Foriel-Destezet.

1970s

Over the course of the 1970’s, Adia expands overseas and begins a phase of acquisitions. The company triples in size and starts operating in more than a dozen countries.

1980s

Ecco becomes France’s market leader as temporary staffing becomes one of the world’s fastest growing industries.

1990s

In 1996, Adia and Ecco merge to form Adecco, and the company place more than 250,000 people a day.

2000s

Adecco continues to expand and becomes America’s largest recruitment company. Adecco creates three distinct business units to serve different needs of the market.

2010s and beyond

Adecco has expanded to 3,800 branches across 62 countries and territories worldwide, and has been established in Vietnam since 2011.
