Job Summary:
The US Logistics Operations Specialist orchestrates and implements comprehensive logistics strategies for US operations, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and performance across the supply chain network. The Logistics Operations Specialist is responsible for the daily execution of transport planning and shipment management for North American Packaged Goods operations. This role manages the end-to-end process from delivery receipt through carrier confirmation, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods across all transport modes. The specialist serves as the primary operational interface between the client and its carrier partners, driving load optimization, cut-off compliance, and exception resolution within the TMS.

Responsibilities for the Logistics Operations Specialist includes but not limited to:
Transportation Management:
Execute daily shipment planning, consolidation, and tendering across all transport modes using the TMS (E2Open).
Perform carrier selection and load optimization, applying consolidation rules.
Manage all transport modes planning cut-off compliance, coordinating with warehouses, plants, and tollers to meet daily deadlines.
Handle priority and rush order processing within short turnaround windows, including same-day shipping.
Verify delivery data received via interface from SAP in TMS, ensuring completeness of all required fields before planning is initiated.
Confirm Shipment IDs (SID) and SCAC codes back to SAP upon carrier acceptance.
Manage the spot bid process for shipments where contracted carrier capacity is unavailable or rate thresholds are exceeded.
Work with procurement team to maintain and apply rate cards within the TMS
Oversee dispute management in the TMS.Manage carrier and warehouse performance through regular operational reviews and corrective actions.
Maintain awareness of SAP delivery requirement flows, including FTZ, freeze protect, dangerous goods, and HAZMAT requirements.
Implement strategic supplier management approaches to resolve performance challenges.
Manage the operational outlook mailbox, responding to internal and external queries in a timely manner.
Manage seasonal fluctuations and peak period planning
Warehouse Operations:
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
Identify potential improvements in ways of working to improve efficiency and accuracy in warehouse operations.
Monitor warehouse performance and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
Oversee Crop Protection warehouse operations, planning for finished goods, raw materials, and packaging storage and handling to support US formulation and finished goods distribution.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning, Production, Direct Procurement, Digital Productivity & Innovation, Regulatory, Quality, Product Technology & Engineering, HSE, Customer Service, and NA Logistics colleagues.
Develop and Implement solutions for challenges arising in Distribution Planning, Inventory Management, Import/Export operations, and Production processes as they relate to the US Supply Chain.
Develop strategies to enhance customer satisfaction through improved logistics.
Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales and Marketing to align logistics capabilities with customer needs.
Continuous Improvement and Budget Management:
Identify and propose new technologies or processes to improve efficiency.
Lead pilot programs for new technologies or processes.
Manage implementation of new logistics systems or processes.
Create and execute contingency plans for supply chain disruptions.
Spearhead data-driven initiatives to uncover and implement cost-reduction strategies throughout the end-to-end logistics network.
Utilize and maintain proficiency in relevant logistics and transportation management systems.
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in logistics analysis.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations.
Knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, distribution & inventory management principles.
Proficiency in Logistics based technology solutions (such as SAP, TMS, WMS).
Solid understanding of all transportation modes and carrier management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to make timely and efficient decisions.

Contract Temp - 12 mos.
ONSITE - Greensboro, NC
M-F 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. EST *This is a P/T position and Shift hours are pending.

Pay Details: $41.37 per hour
