Laundry Product Testing Technician – Entry Level

Location: Trumbull, CT

About the Opportunity

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring for a leading consumer products organization seeking an entry-level Laundry Product Testing Technician to support hands-on product performance testing in an onsite laboratory environment.

This is not a research position and does not require a college degree. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on work, follows procedures carefully, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working with equipment, materials, and routine testing processes.

You will work alongside scientists and laboratory team members to prepare, execute, and document laundry product performance testing used to evaluate product prototypes and support advertising claims.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with laundry product performance testing for prototype evaluation and advertising claim substantiation.

  • Perform routine testing methodologies, including stain removal and fabric softening, after completing required training.

  • Follow established SOPs for washing, drying, test preparation, staining, and related laboratory activities.

  • Prepare test materials, including labeling fabrics and towels and preparing stains and test samples.

  • Learn and perform all aspects of assigned test procedures accurately and consistently.

  • Operate laboratory instrumentation and automated testing equipment following established procedures.

  • Communicate with test requesters to understand product requirements and additional test specifications.

  • Prepare and apply stains accurately and verify that test materials and results meet established requirements.

  • Generate, organize, and compile test data for scientists and other team members to analyze.

  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and materials.

  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the wash laboratory.

  • Follow laboratory safety and Good Laboratory Practices.

  • Work collaboratively within a team environment while completing assigned responsibilities independently.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; no college degree required.

  • Previous laboratory, manufacturing, quality, production, testing, or hands-on technical experience is helpful but not required.

  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) is a plus.

  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable learning to operate equipment and instrumentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures consistently.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.

  • Comfortable working in an onsite, hands-on laboratory environment.

What Makes Someone Successful

The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and dependable. You do not need to be a scientist or have a degree to succeed in this position.

Training will be provided on testing methodologies and procedures. The successful candidate will be comfortable following instructions carefully, working with equipment and materials, maintaining accurate records, and producing consistent results.

Pay Details: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour
