Transportation Coordinator

Adecco is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill a Remote Transportation Coordinator job opportunity but must live near St. Louis, MO 63164 zip code.

 

Pay: $29.86/HR

Shift: M-F 8:00am – 5pm

Duration: 7 months

 

Description:

• Responsible for capturing and documenting appropriate reason codes on customer’s delivery information.

• Assist Transportation Manager with on time reporting, and other reporting functions as assigned.

• Could also include scheduling and tendering of outbound freight in accordance with customer delivery demands, corporate sales targets, and product supply availability.

• Timely follow up on loads to determine on time delivery or correct reason code to be applied if failure for on time delivery

• Monitor and track shipments daily to ensure on-time pickup and delivery, applying appropriate reason codes for service failures.

• Follow up with carriers using transportation management systems and FourKites to maintain shipment visibility and delivery accuracy.

• Coordinate load tendering, carrier assignments, and routing guide compliance to ensure efficient freight coverage.

• Build and maintain strong carrier relationships through professional communication, issue resolution, and accessorial management.

• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating shipment updates, service disruptions, and delivery changes in a timely manner.

• Schedule pickup and delivery appointments with shippers and receivers while updating transportation and warehouse management systems.

• Analyze shipment performance and proactively address potential delays to improve on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

• Manage detention requests, accessorial charges, expedite decisions, and transportation costs according to company policies.

• Consolidate customer orders into full truckload shipments to maximize efficiency and reduce transportation expenses.

• Review and correct EDI transaction errors to ensure accurate shipment data and system integrity.

• Process customer returns and coordinate resolution with carriers, customers, and internal stakeholders.

• Collaborate with operations, planning teams, and supply chain partners to resolve product availability and delivery issues.

• Support carrier onboarding by coordinating EDI setup, portal access, and training for carrier partners.

• Maintain transportation performance metrics, fill rates, and reporting requirements to support operational goals.

 

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Customer Service in a manufacturing or transportation environment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Pay Details: $29.86 per hour
