Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Assistant to join our production team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. In this role, you will work closely with the Shipping Manager and President to ensure customer orders are shipped accurately and on time while supporting daily shipping operations. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience with shipping, packaging, or manufacturing. While previous aerospace manufacturing experience is a plus, we are also open to candidates who are computer savvy, capable of preparing and packaging shipments, and eager to learn the manufacturing side of the business.

This position offers the opportunity to grow into a cross-functional role, receiving training across multiple departments to provide coverage and support throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily customer schedules by accessing customer portals and downloading shipping requirements.

  • Compare customer schedules with the ERP system (JobBoss) and Finished Goods Inventory (FGI) to prioritize shipments.

  • Plan daily shipping activities based on customer due dates and inventory availability.

  • Transfer completed parts into inventory and verify final quantities for accuracy.

  • Pick parts using the ERP system and prepare shipping documentation.

  • Generate all required shipping paperwork for domestic and international shipments, including:

    • Packing Lists

    • Certificates of Conformance

    • Commercial Invoices

    • Customs Documentation

    • Part Labels and Barcodes

  • Package products according to customer-specific packaging and labeling requirements.

  • Create shipping labels using FedEx, UPS, DHL, and customer-specific shipping platforms.

  • Schedule carrier pickups and coordinate outgoing shipments.

  • Verify inventory levels to determine complete or partial shipments.

  • Work closely with the Quality Department to ensure all quality release requirements have been completed prior to shipment.

  • Record shipment information, tracking numbers, customer data, and inventory transactions within JobBoss and other tracking spreadsheets.

  • Assist with Finished Goods Inventory counts as needed.

  • Cross-train in other manufacturing departments to provide operational support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn ERP systems (JobBoss experience is a plus).

  • Experience with packaging, shipping documentation, or customer shipping requirements preferred.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet shipping deadlines.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.

  • Willingness to learn multiple manufacturing processes and become a versatile team member.

Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
