Quality Control Laboratory Technician

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring for a leading organization in the life sciences industry recognized for developing and manufacturing products that support global health and scientific advancement. This is an exciting contract opportunity for a laboratory professional looking to gain hands-on experience across quality control testing, GMP laboratory operations, and regulated product release activities.

Position Summary

The Quality Control Laboratory Technician will support regulated laboratory operations through a structured assignment that provides exposure to two key areas of the product release process.

During the first portion of the contract, this role will support Bacteriology/Immunology Quality Control laboratory operations, performing routine testing, sample preparation, documentation, and laboratory support activities within a GMP environment.

During the second portion of the contract, the role will transition into clinical/animal-side operations, supporting product release studies, laboratory testing activities, and regulated animal care procedures while following strict quality, safety, and animal welfare standards.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, comfortable working in a regulated laboratory environment, and interested in gaining experience across multiple areas of quality and product release operations.


Key Responsibilities

Bacteriology/Immunology QC Laboratory Support

  • Perform routine laboratory testing of manufacturing samples to support product quality and release activities.

  • Execute basic laboratory techniques including pipetting, sample preparation, and assay support.

  • Prepare media, reagents, and laboratory materials following established procedures.

  • Support media fill inspections and routine QC laboratory activities.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with cGMP, GLP, and data integrity requirements.

  • Complete laboratory records, testing documentation, and required electronic entries accurately and consistently.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and work areas in a clean and compliant condition.

  • Support inventory tracking and preparation of laboratory supplies and reagents.

  • Assist with laboratory investigations, data collection, and assigned quality projects.

  • Develop familiarity with QC systems including MODA EM, zLIMS, SAP, or comparable laboratory platforms.

  • Follow all laboratory safety procedures and quality standards.


Clinical / Animal-Side Product Release Support

  • Support product release safety and potency testing activities under supervision.

  • Follow established procedures related to laboratory animal handling, testing activities, and documentation.

  • Maintain compliance with animal welfare standards, including applicable IACUC and AAALAC guidelines.

  • Accurately record observations, testing results, and laboratory activities.

  • Report deviations, concerns, or unusual findings to senior team members.

  • Assist with maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies, equipment, and animal-related materials.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas.

  • Support laboratory investigations through documentation review, data collection, and reporting.

  • Develop understanding of animal usage protocols (AUPs) and site-specific requirements.

  • Collaborate with team members to support efficient testing schedules and product release activities.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Animal Science, or related scientific field preferred.

  • Ability to follow written procedures, SOPs, work instructions, and quality documentation requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Comfortable working in a regulated environment requiring adherence to GMP/GLP, safety, and quality standards.

  • Ability and willingness to support both laboratory and animal/clinical environments during the assignment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with aseptic technique, microbiology, immunology testing, or laboratory bench work.

  • Familiarity with cGMP documentation practices and quality investigations.

  • Experience using laboratory information systems (LIMS), MODA EM, SAP, or similar platforms.

  • Previous experience working with laboratory animals or exposure to IACUC/AUP requirements.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in controlled laboratory and animal facility environments.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Must follow biosafety and facility entry/exit procedures.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive laboratory tasks including pipetting.

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds as required.

  • Must demonstrate commitment to quality, safety, data integrity, and ethical laboratory practices.


Additional Onboarding Requirements

  • Enhanced background check required prior to start.

  • Pulmonary fit testing required as part of onboarding.

  • Candidates should be prepared to complete these requirements as part of the pre-employment process.

Pay Details: $21.00 to $22.00 per hour
