Nursing Supervisor / Off-Shift Clinical Leader – Registered Nurse
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend, holidays as needed
Pay: $53.00–$59.28 per hour, depending on experience

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical leadership and operational support during overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts in an acute care setting.

This role is ideal for an experienced acute care or critical care RN with strong leadership and charge nurse experience who can effectively prioritize competing clinical needs, support nursing staff, and promote safe, high-quality patient care.

The Nursing Supervisor will serve as an important link between off-shift clinical staff and nursing leadership, providing guidance, mentorship, and decision-making support while helping ensure appropriate staffing and resources based on patient acuity.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate clinical activities throughout the acute care setting during night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff caring for patients across all age groups.
Assist nurses with planning, organizing, evaluating, and delivering safe and effective patient care.
Monitor staffing levels and adjust assignments based on patient acuity, staffing needs, and established policies.
Collaborate with nursing leadership and unit staff to ensure appropriate allocation of resources.
Provide support during emergency clinical and administrative situations.
Serve as a resource and consultant to nursing staff regarding clinical issues, policies, procedures, and protocols.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development support to nursing staff.
Promote staff accountability and professional nursing practice.
Facilitate competency assessments and identify staff education and development needs.
Foster a culture of effective communication, teamwork, professionalism, and collegial relationships.
Serve as a communication link between off-shift/weekend staff and nursing leadership.
Maintain effective processes for communicating important information to nursing leaders and clinical teams.
Collaborate with Nurse Managers, clinical leaders, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to address patient care and operational needs.
Respond to patient, family, and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Apply sound clinical judgment and decision-making principles when prioritizing patient care needs.
Ensure nursing practice complies with applicable regulatory standards, professional practice standards, state Nurse Practice Act requirements, and clinical protocols.
Participate in nursing leadership committees, seminars, quality initiatives, and problem-solving activities.
Promote safe, effective, efficient, compassionate, and culturally sensitive patient care.
Support continuous improvement in the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
Required Qualifications
Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum 3 years of acute care RN experience.
Minimum 1 year of critical care experience, preferably Emergency Department (ED) experience.
Minimum 1 year of leadership or Charge Nurse experience.
Strong clinical judgment and ability to prioritize multiple clinical events effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work positively and collaboratively with nurses, physicians, patients, families, and the general public.
Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Compensation & Benefits
$53.00–$59.28 per hour, based on experience
