| Respiratory Therapist Pay Range: Starting at $40.00 per hour, based on education and experience Schedule: Part-time, approximately 24 hours per week Benefits: Benefit-eligible position Location Preference: Local candidates preferred Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care and life-support services to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. Under general supervision, the Respiratory Therapist provides acute and critical respiratory care, operates and manages respiratory equipment, administers prescribed respiratory medications, and works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The Respiratory Therapist will also serve as a resource to the Respiratory Therapy Department and may assist with training and cross-training activities. Key Responsibilities Provide respiratory care and life-support services to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Operate and manage mechanical ventilators and BiPAP/CPAP equipment. Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis. Administer respiratory medications through nebulizers and metered-dose inhalers as prescribed. Provide respiratory treatments in acute and critical-care settings. Monitor patients and respond appropriately to changes in respiratory or cardiopulmonary status. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement appropriate respiratory care plans. Cross-train in Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) procedures. Provide education and support to patients and families regarding respiratory conditions and treatments. Maintain accurate documentation of respiratory assessments, treatments, and patient responses. Serve as a clinical resource for the Respiratory Therapy Department. Assist with training and development of staff as appropriate. Follow established clinical, safety, infection-control, and regulatory standards. Maintain respiratory equipment and report equipment concerns as necessary. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy or a related field. Current Respiratory Therapist license in good standing. Current BLS certification (AHA). Current ACLS certification. Strong clinical knowledge of respiratory care procedures and cardiopulmonary conditions. Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Strong communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in acute and critical-care environments. Preferred Qualifications NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification is highly preferred. Experience with mechanical ventilation and BiPAP/CPAP. Experience performing arterial blood gas sampling and analysis. Experience with pulmonary function testing. Previous acute-care or critical-care respiratory therapy experience. Schedule This is a part-time, benefit-eligible position requiring approximately 24 hours per week. On-call and weekend requirements will be determined based on departmental needs. Compensation Starting Pay: $40.00 per hour Actual compensation will be determined based on education, professional experience, qualifications, and applicable pay practices.
