R&D Laboratory Technician

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring for a leading medical device organization known for developing innovative technologies that support improved patient care. We are seeking an experienced R&D Laboratory Technician to support product development, laboratory testing, and prototype activities within a regulated environment.

Position Details

Location: Mansfield, MA
Work Environment: 100% Onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 hours/week
Pay Rate: $44.50/hour
Contract Duration: Through December 30, 2026, with potential for extension based on business needs and performance

Position Overview

The R&D Laboratory Technician will support engineering and product development activities through hands-on laboratory testing, prototype fabrication, data collection, and documentation. This position works closely with engineering and R&D teams to execute established test protocols and generate accurate, reliable test data.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of laboratory testing experience in a regulated industry, strong attention to detail, and hands-on experience with basic prototyping or fabrication. An engineering background is a plus but is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, monitor, and execute laboratory tests in accordance with established protocols.

  • Perform hands-on testing to support R&D, engineering, and product development activities.

  • Modify, fabricate, and assemble prototypes under the direction of an engineer.

  • Accurately record test procedures, observations, results, and relevant information in laboratory notebooks and applicable documentation systems.

  • Assist with organizing, analyzing, and reporting laboratory test data.

  • Follow established laboratory, safety, quality, and regulatory procedures.

  • Maintain organized laboratory work areas, equipment, materials, and documentation.

  • Collaborate with engineers and R&D personnel to support testing and prototype development.

  • Communicate testing observations, issues, and deviations to appropriate team members.

  • Support ongoing laboratory and product development activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 3+ years of laboratory testing experience.

  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry required.

  • Experience with laboratory testing and basic prototyping.

  • Ability to accurately follow established test protocols and procedures.

  • Strong documentation and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Mansfield, MA, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline.

  • Engineering background or hands-on engineering experience.

  • Experience modifying, fabricating, or assembling prototypes.

  • Medical device industry experience.

  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and 21 CFR Part 820.

  • Experience supporting R&D, product development, or engineering teams.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $44.50 per hour
