About the Opportunity

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a Laboratory Compliance Specialist to support an internal materials characterization laboratory at a leading medical technology organization in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

This opportunity is ideal for a science professional with experience in laboratory quality systems, analytical data review, technical documentation, or regulatory compliance. Rather than focusing on routine, hands-on laboratory testing, this role emphasizes scientific data integrity, documentation accuracy, testing interpretation, and continuous improvement.

You’ll collaborate closely with R&D engineers, scientists, and laboratory personnel to help ensure analytical results are properly reviewed, laboratory records meet quality standards, and processes remain aligned with applicable regulatory and quality requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct peer reviews of analytical test data and materials characterization results using paper-based and electronic systems.

  • Review data intended for regulatory submissions to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

  • Identify documentation gaps, inconsistencies, and potential quality issues, and recommend appropriate improvements.

  • Initiate or facilitate laboratory investigations involving out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend (OOT) results, deviations, and nonconformances.

  • Author and revise laboratory methods, procedures, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocols, reports, and technical documentation.

  • Review supporting records, including equipment logs, verification logs, and training documentation.

  • Develop and implement improvements to laboratory documentation practices, workflows, and quality processes.

  • Provide compliance oversight and support for special projects within the materials characterization laboratory and across other teams as needed.

  • Collect, analyze, and trend quality metrics to support laboratory objectives and management reviews.

  • Assist with the implementation or transition to new laboratory systems and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, materials science, materials engineering, biology, biochemistry, or a related scientific field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

  • At least three years of experience in a laboratory scientist or engineering role, peer or quality review, or technical writing.

  • Strong knowledge of good documentation practices and familiarity with ISO standards and/or quality management systems.

  • Experience working in a regulated, audit-facing environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to assess technical records for accuracy and completeness.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide constructive feedback to scientific and technical colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience interpreting materials characterization results, including metallography, microhardness testing, scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM/EDS), tensile testing, corrosion testing, or chemical analysis.

  • Familiarity with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) material testing and characterization.

  • Experience with technical writing and improving laboratory procedures or documentation standards.

  • Familiarity with software such as Trios, Minitab, Empower, and OMNIC/OMNIC Paradigm.

  • Knowledge of sample preparation and mechanical or analytical testing methods.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite, first-shift position requiring collaboration with R&D engineers, scientists, and laboratory personnel. The primary focus is laboratory data review, documentation, quality oversight, and compliance rather than routine hands-on testing.

Business-casual attire is expected, subject to applicable workplace and laboratory requirements.

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

This is a one-year contract-to-hire assignment, offering the potential to transition to a direct-hire position based on business needs and applicable hiring decisions. The anticipated assignment start date is October 26, 2026.

Interested?

If you have a scientific background and enjoy the intersection of analytical data, technical documentation, and laboratory quality compliance, we encourage you to apply. This is an opportunity to contribute to high-quality scientific work while helping strengthen the processes that support reliable testing and regulatory readiness.
