Quality Inspector Lead – 1 Position

Location: Peachtree Corners, GA
Pay: $23–$25 per hour

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector Lead to join our manufacturing team in Peachtree Corners, GA. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in quality assurance and inspection within a manufacturing environment, with a solid understanding of wood products, engineering documentation, quality systems, and continuous improvement.

This position will play a key role in maintaining quality standards, identifying and resolving quality issues, improving inspection processes, and supporting the development and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System (QMS).

Responsibilities

• Lead quality inspection activities for lumber, plywood, crates, pallets, and other wood products.

• Inspect products and materials to ensure they meet engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and quality standards.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

• Use tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other measuring and inspection equipment.

• Create and maintain quality reports, inspection records, and documentation.

• Document non-conformances and work with appropriate departments to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

• Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) processes.

• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, inspection plans, quality procedures, and related documentation.

• Establish and improve quality processes, metrics, documentation, and reporting systems.

• Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Planning to resolve quality issues.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence.

• Ensure inspection procedures and documentation requirements are consistently followed.

• Prioritize multiple quality-related tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

• Promote a strong culture of quality and safety throughout the manufacturing operation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Inspection within a manufacturing environment.

• Previous experience inspecting wood products, including lumber, plywood, crates, and pallets.

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and BOMs.

• Proficiency using measuring and inspection equipment, including tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other quality instruments.

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and tracking.

• Experience working with ERP systems.

• Experience creating quality reports, documenting non-conformances, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering documentation.

• Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS).

• Experience creating and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, inspection plans, and quality documentation.

• Ability to establish and improve quality processes, metrics, documentation, and reporting systems.

• Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Production, and Planning teams.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of quality systems, inspection procedures, and documentation requirements.

• Previous experience in wood manufacturing is strongly preferred.

Compensation

$23–$25/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Pay Details: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour
