Job Description

We are seeking a dependable Production Associate to join a small, family-owned seafood business specializing in smoked salmon. The ideal candidate has food production experience, is comfortable handling fish, and can safely use knives for trimming, slicing, and preparing salmon. Training will be provided on the smoking process.

Key Responsibilities

• Trim and prepare pre-cut salmon fillets for processing.

• Remove blood veins and excess material using knives.

• Salt, smoke, slice, and package salmon products.

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.

• Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and production areas.

• Follow company procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Previous food production, seafood handling, or fish preparation experience preferred.

• Comfortable using knives for trimming and slicing.

• Ability to work in a cold environment maintained at approximately 38–40°F.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.

• Reliable, productive, and able to work well within a small team.

• Willingness to follow workplace rules and sanitation standards.

Compensation

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour, with flexibility for candidates who bring relevant experience and can perform the job independently.

Pay Details: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour
