Schedule:             Between 6a-12am Mon-Fri, weekends and holidays may apply
Pay:                       $26.00 to $28.00 an hour
               
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Central Sterile Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, inspecting, and distributing medical instruments and equipment used throughout the healthcare facility. The ideal candidate is committed to patient safety, quality standards, and maintaining a sterile environment that supports excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate, clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established procedures.

  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage.

  • Assemble instrument trays, procedural kits, and case carts accurately.

  • Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, including steam sterilizers and low-temperature sterilization systems.

  • Maintain sterilization records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Ensure adequate inventory levels of sterile supplies and equipment.

  • Transport and distribute sterile instruments and supplies to designated departments.

  • Perform routine maintenance and quality assurance testing of sterilization equipment.

  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

  • Collaborate with surgical services, nursing staff, and other departments to support patient care operations.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Central Sterile Processing certification (CRCST, CSPDT, or equivalent) or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.

  • Knowledge of sterilization methods, infection control practices, and instrument processing procedures.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of sterile processing experience in a hospital, surgery center, or healthcare setting.

  • Experience with surgical instrumentation and case cart assembly.

  • Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems.

  • Understanding of AAMI, OSHA, and infection control standards.
