Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is currently seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a Contract-to-Hire opportunity with a leading healthcare organization.
Position Details
Position: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Illinois
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $25.66/hr.
Schedule: PM Shift, 6:30 PM – 3:00 AM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Overtime/Holidays: May be required as needed
Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician will support pharmacy operations by accurately preparing prescription orders for final verification by a pharmacist. This position is responsible for picking, labeling, scanning, packaging, and preparing medications while maintaining accuracy, safety, and compliance with pharmacy procedures and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Fill daily medication orders accurately, efficiently, and within required timeframes under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Pick and pull medications from shelving, prepack racks, and other designated medication storage areas.
Apply labels to blister cards and scan products to verify accuracy.
Alert the pharmacist when a medication or product does not scan properly.
Package medications and other materials manually as required.
Process returned medications and recycle or dispose of products according to established procedures.
Assist with prepacking frequently ordered medications, including labeling and proper storage during lower-volume periods.
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation.
Replenish supplies and materials needed to support daily pharmacy operations.
Follow all applicable federal and state regulations, including HIPAA requirements.
Follow departmental policies related to safety, attendance, dress code, and pharmacy procedures.
Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required or expected.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Clear and active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Illinois Board of Pharmacy
Ability to work at a moderate and consistent pace while maintaining accuracy.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established pharmacy procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous pharmacy technician experience.
Experience with medication picking, labeling, scanning, packaging, or prescription fulfillment.
Experience working in a retail, specialty, mail-order, or hospital pharmacy environment.
