Pharmacy Technician

Position Details

• Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

• Location: Burr Ridge, IL

• Employment Type: Temporary / Temp-to-Hire

• Pay Rate: $21.05/hour

• Schedule: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; every other weekend 10:00 AM–6:30 PM

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician will support daily pharmacy operations by accurately and efficiently preparing prescription orders under the supervision of a pharmacist. Responsibilities include picking, labeling, scanning, packaging, and preparing finished prescriptions for final pharmacist verification.

Responsibilities

• Fill daily medication orders accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision.

• Pick medications from shelving, prepack racks, and other designated storage areas.

• Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy.

• Alert the pharmacist when medications or products do not scan properly.

• Package medications and other materials manually.

• Process returned medications and recycle or dispose of products according to established procedures.

• Prepackage frequently ordered medications, label, and store products as needed.

• Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish necessary supplies.

• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA requirements.

• Follow departmental policies related to safety, attendance, and dress code.

• Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Clear and active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Illinois Board of Pharmacy.

• Ability to work at a moderate pace in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the workday.

• Ability to sit or stand for approximately 7–10 hours per day.

• Ability to work extended hours when needed.

• Finger dexterity to operate office and pharmacy equipment.

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

• Visual acuity to read fine print, distinguish colors, and adjust focus.

• Ability to hear normal voice sounds.

Pay Details: $21.05 per hour
