Location: Sarasota, FL
Position Type: Full-Time- Onsite
Pay: Competitive and based on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join a growing legal team in Sarasota, FL. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in either a paralegal or legal assistant capacity who thrive in a fast-paced legal environment. The successful candidate will provide both legal and administrative support to attorneys, assist with case management, prepare legal documents, communicate with clients, and help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.

This opportunity is designed to attract candidates from a variety of legal backgrounds, including litigation, personal injury, family law, estate planning, real estate, corporate law, and general practice.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of case management and legal matters.

  • Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery documents, contracts, agreements, and other legal documents for attorney review.

  • Conduct legal and factual research using online legal databases, court records, and public resources.

  • Organize, maintain, and manage electronic and physical client files.

  • Review, analyze, and summarize records, reports, medical records, contracts, and other case-related documentation.

  • Coordinate and manage court filings with local, state, and federal courts.

  • Monitor case deadlines and maintain attorney calendars.

  • Schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, client meetings, and other legal proceedings.

  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, vendors, and third parties.

  • Prepare case files and supporting documents for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.

  • Assist with document management, file maintenance, and administrative office support.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and legal matters.

  • Perform additional administrative and legal support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent legal experience preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or similar legal support role preferred.

  • Knowledge of Florida court procedures, legal terminology, filing requirements, and legal document preparation preferred.

  • Experience with legal case management systems and electronic filing platforms is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and manage deadlines effectively.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay Details: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour
