Production Operator – Manufacturing
Location: Rochester, NY
Schedule: Rotating 12-Hour Shift ("Fireman's Rotation")
2 Days: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
2 Nights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Rotating schedule with built-in days off
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Production Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate production equipment, monitor product quality, complete production documentation, and support continuous manufacturing operations in a fast-paced, regulated environment. The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
Operate manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality products according to established procedures.
Perform visual inspections and use inspection tools to verify product quality.
Make basic machine adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
Accurately complete production records and quality documentation.
Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality requirements.
Work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to minimize downtime and resolve production issues.
Communicate equipment or quality concerns to supervisors and support personnel.
Participate in shift changeovers to ensure smooth production transitions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Operate computer-controlled equipment and enter production information into company systems.
Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support Lean manufacturing practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.
Ability to perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (cGMP, SOPs, quality systems, or similar) preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn new equipment.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing software.
SAP experience is a plus.
Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift for extended periods.
Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Perform repetitive tasks and work around manufacturing equipment.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment while following strict safety and quality standards.

Pay Details: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour
