Position Summary

The Medical Technologist II performs moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing to support diagnosis and treatment decisions. This role requires strong technical expertise across multiple laboratory disciplines, including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, morphology, and serology.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly accurate, and comfortable working independently in a clinical laboratory environment while maintaining strict quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures.

• Conduct testing across multiple laboratory areas, including:

  • Chemistry

  • Hematology

  • Morphology

  • Urinalysis

  • Serology

  • Bacteriology

• Perform chemical, microscopic, and analytical testing of patient specimens.

• Analyze blood, urine, and body fluid samples to identify normal and abnormal components.

• Review, interpret, and correlate laboratory results with patient history and clinical information.

• Enter and verify test results accurately within laboratory computer systems.

• Perform and document quality control activities to ensure accuracy and reliability of patient results.

• Troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and resolve testing issues.

• Perform preventative maintenance, calibration checks, and instrument verification according to established procedures.

• Maintain accurate documentation of instrument maintenance, repairs, and quality activities.

• Support laboratory competency assessments and CAP Survey Attestation activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in:

  • Medical Technology

  • Clinical Laboratory Science

  • Chemical Science

  • Physical Science

  • Related Life Science discipline

• Experience performing moderate- and high-complexity clinical laboratory testing.

• Strong understanding of laboratory quality practices and procedures.

• Ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASCP Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification strongly preferred

• 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

• Experience working in a CAP-accredited laboratory environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills with laboratory instrumentation.

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and repetitive hand movements.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs occasionally.

• Normal color vision required.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $37.00 per hour
