| Certified Medical Assistant – Internal Medicine Pay Range: $19.90–$27.00 per hour, depending on education and experience Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Local candidates preferred Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join an Internal Medicine practice. The Medical Assistant will provide clinical support to physicians and nursing staff while assisting with patient care, examinations, treatments, and routine clinical procedures. The ideal candidate will be professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and compassionate, with the ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced medical environment. Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a commitment to patient confidentiality are essential. Essential Responsibilities Perform blood draws, injections, immunizations, laboratory tests, and other clinical procedures within the scope of Medical Assistant certification. Assist physicians with patient examinations and clinical procedures. Obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration. Prepare patients for examinations and treatments. Assist patients to and from examination rooms and provide support during examinations and procedures. Assist with nursing procedures as directed by the physician or clinical supervisor. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination rooms. Monitor medical supplies and request replenishment as needed. Take and return patient telephone calls as directed by the physician or clinical staff. Provide patients with instructions and information as directed by the physician. Assist with maintaining accurate medical records, including referrals, laboratory forms, and other clinical documentation. Support efficient patient flow and daily clinical operations. Assist with other duties as requested by the Manager or Clinical Coordinator while remaining within the scope of Medical Assistant certification. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patients, employees, and practice-related information. Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Completion of at least 2 years of formal Medical Assistant education or specialized Medical Assistant training. Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical setting. Current Medical Assistant certification and ability to maintain certification. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Experience with routine clinical procedures such as blood draws, injections, immunizations, and laboratory testing. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally. Compassionate, patient-focused approach to healthcare. Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities.
