Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support a busy medical office in New Paltz, NY. This is a temporary opportunity for a reliable, patient-focused MA who is comfortable providing hands-on clinical support and assisting providers with exams and procedures.
Position Details
Location: New Paltz, NY 12561
Employment Type: Temporary for a minimum of 3-months (possible extension or temp-hire)
Pay Rate: $24.34/hr.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care within established scope of practice and departmental policies.
Room and escort patients to exam rooms while maintaining efficient patient flow.
Obtain and document vital signs, vision screenings, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and other authorized clinical tests.
Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses with examinations, procedures, diagnostic testing, and treatments.
Prepare e-prescriptions for processing to pharmacies as directed by providers and according to company policy.
Clean, prepare, inspect, and process instruments and equipment according to manufacturer and departmental guidelines.
Collect and process patient specimens for laboratory transport, ensuring proper labeling and that appropriate orders are entered in the EMR.
Identify and communicate patient and family needs to the appropriate healthcare provider.
Seek guidance from physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses when needed.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow all applicable policies, procedures, and protocols.
Support an efficient, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
One or more years of Medical Assistant experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting OR a nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification from one of the following:
NAHP
NCCT
AAMA
AMT
NHA
Pay Details: $24.34 per hour
