Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and hardworking Medical Assistant to join a healthcare team in Lake Success, NY. The ideal candidate will have hands-on phlebotomy experience and be comfortable providing direct clinical support to patients and providers in a busy medical office environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient vital signs.

• Perform EKGs and prepare patients for cardiac testing.

• Perform phlebotomy and blood specimen collection safely and accurately.

• Properly identify and handle patient specimens according to established procedures.

• Room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.

• Obtain and document relevant patient information.

• Prepare examination rooms and ensure necessary supplies are available.

• Assist providers during examinations and clinical procedures.

• Perform and assist with patient testing according to established protocols.

• Assist with prescription requests and appropriately route requests to providers and clinical staff.

• Respond to patient messages and direct questions or concerns to the appropriate healthcare team member.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.

• Follow infection-control and safety procedures.

• Keep clinical areas clean, organized, and stocked.

• Provide compassionate, professional, and respectful patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience is required.

• Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, physician practice, or similar healthcare setting.

• Ability to obtain accurate vital signs.

• Experience performing or assisting with EKGs.

• Strong patient-care and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Pay Details: $24.34 per hour
