Materials Group Leader
Automotive Manufacturing | Full-Time | 1st Shift
Are you a hands-on leader with experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations and material management within a manufacturing environment? We're looking for a Materials Group Leader to lead our 1st shift shipping and receiving team at a fast-paced Tier 1 automotive manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes and ensuring customers receive products on time.
What You'll Do
- Lead and supervise first shift shipping, receiving and material handling operations
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment for all team members
- Oversee warehouse organization, inventory flow, 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
- Manage shipping documentation, labels, ASNs and material transactions using ERP/shipping systems
- Ensure on-time delivery of finished products to customers while maintaining shipping accuracy
- Coordinate with customers regarding shortages, returns and logistics concerns
- Create and maintain reports, tracking tools and analytical spreadsheets to support daily operations
- Develop work instructions, procedures and training materials for shipping and receiving processes
- Manage returnable containers, shipping supplies and warehouse organization
- Monitor shipping schedules, dock staging and shipment tracking reports
- Support inventory accuracy and production control activities
- Coach, develop and train Team Leaders and associates while driving continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
- Associate's degree preferred or equivalent leadership experience
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in an automotive manufacturing shipping, receiving or materials environment
- Previous supervisory experience leading hourly employees and Team Leaders
- Experience with inventory control and/or production control
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with ERP or shipping systems; SAP and Future 3 experience is a plus
- Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical abilities with solid math skills
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles
- Safety-focused with experience in safe work practices
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as business demands require

Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $72,000.00 per year
