Location: Syracuse, NY

Hours: Monday – Thursday 3pm to 12:30am, Friday-10am to 6:30pm 

**MUST BE ABLE TO TRAIN ON 1ST SHIFT FOR APPROX MONTH*

Payrate: $18.00-$25.00/hour, depending on experience

Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate, safe, and timely movement of components, materials, and finished goods throughout the plant. This position supports production, assembly, shipping, receiving, and stockroom operations by maintaining inventory flow, completing required transactions, and following standard work and safety practices.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Safely transport materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility to support production schedules and operational needs.

  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, powered lifts, carts, and other approved equipment.

  • Maintain accurate records of material movement, inventory activity, and stockroom transactions.

  • Utilize computer systems to complete inventory transactions, material tracking, and stockroom documentation.

  • Follow established procedures, standard work instructions, and material handling processes.

  • Provide professional communication and support to production, assembly, shipping, receiving, and other departments.

  • Assist with material delivery and support for Assembly and Shipping Departments as needed.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support process improvement initiatives.

  • Work flexible hours as needed to meet production and business requirements.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, stockroom, or material handling environment preferred.

  • Two or more years of related experience is preferred.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform basic math, including counting, inventory calculations, and scale counting.

  • Ability to accurately enter information into computer systems and complete inventory transactions.

  • Ability to follow written instructions, safety procedures, and verbal directions.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness and ability to complete forklift training and become certified on required equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift containers weighing 60+ pounds without assistance.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and carry materials as needed.

  • Ability to safely work from ladders when required.

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.

  • Ability to wear required PPE while working in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility and requires regular interaction with production, assembly, shipping, receiving, and stockroom teams. The successful candidate must be safety-focused, dependable, and able to adapt to changing operational needs while supporting a fast-paced production environment.



Pay Details: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour
