Adecco is hiring for a 1st Shift Material Handler in Shipping.

This is a temp to hire opportunity for a client located in Syracuse, NY

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday

Payrate: $18.00-$25.00/hour depending on experience

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced person to join our Shipping Team.  As a key member of our logistics department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products through our facility. This position is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient transport of goods from the warehouse to the customer while adhering to applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Shipments: Arrange and oversee inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery and accurate documentation.

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, track stock levels, and assist with cycle counts.

  • Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for quality and compliance.

  • Communication: Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve any shipping or receiving issues.

  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in shipping coordination.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve logistics challenges.

  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in SAP is needed along with MS Office and shipping software (e.g., UPS, FedEx).

  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset and ability to work well with cross-functional teams.

What You Need to Succeed:​

  • 1-2 years of warehouse experience is preferred

  • Experience using SAP on a daily basis 

  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines 

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 

  • Experience using smart phone, tablet and/or laptop   

  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications and the Internet  

  • Experience operating a forklift is preferred  

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old 

  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours and regularly lift 50 pounds 

  • Able to safely maneuver oversized and overweight equipment  

  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment that may not be climate-controlled 

 


 
 



Pay Details: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour
