Material Handler
Our client in San Fernando, CA is looking for Material Handler in the San Fernando Valley.
This individual will be performing manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. This individual may be responsible for a higher volume, high dollar amount and/or be assigned responsibility over one or more specified areas. Responsibilities
· Counts, weighs or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
· Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify; completes paperwork or forms required for documentation.
· Provides on the job training to lower-level employees and resolves problems utilizing knowledge of shipping/receiving/stock operations.
· Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
· Participates in routing, counting and inspecting items while loading and unloading trucks; delivers and returns items.
· Secures cargo properly and safely with weight evenly distributed.
· Participates in sending signals to order or purchasing standard stock items, such as recommending additions or deletions to standard stock items or ordering replenishments within established procedures and limits.
· Exercises decision making and independent judgement due to a broader knowledge of the materials handling operation.
· Provides problem resolution to others.
· Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
· Ensures a safe working environment, good housekeeping and 5’s for your respective area

Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
· Over 2 years’ experience with Material Handler experience
· Strong knowledge of Manufacturing software and Microsoft office, Word and Excel.
· Ability to utilize computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.
· Knowledge of record keeping practices.
· Skill in operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas.
· Knowledge of safety practices.
· Skill in materials handling equipment
· Ability to follow instructions, and management directive.
· Skill in both verbal and written communication.
· Skill in lifting packages and objects up to 40 lbs.
Shifts Available:
Shifts are available from Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. with some overtime including Saturdays

Pay Details: $21.50 per hour
