Manufacturing Engineer – Composites Manufacturing

Position Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development, planning, and continuous improvement of composite manufacturing processes. This individual will work closely with engineering, production, suppliers, and quality teams to ensure products are manufactured efficiently while meeting customer specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and customer specifications.

  • Prepare detailed manufacturing cost estimates, including labor, materials, tooling, purchased components, and outside processing.

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) from planning through production launch.

  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods, work instructions, and production documentation.

  • Coordinate tooling requirements, supplier activities, and manufacturing readiness.

  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to support tooling, materials, and manufacturing needs.

  • Maintain manufacturing data and documentation within the company's ERP system.

  • Develop and maintain CNC cutting programs for composite materials.

  • Provide technical support to production personnel throughout the manufacturing process.

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement process improvements to improve quality, efficiency, and cost.

  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, production, and supply chain teams to meet program schedules and customer requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing safety, ergonomics, and workflow.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other engineering projects as assigned.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and export control requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience supporting composite manufacturing or aerospace manufacturing preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Experience with manufacturing process development and new product introduction.

  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.

  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods, tooling, composites, and lean manufacturing principles is preferred.



Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
