Maintenance Technician II

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our facilities operations team. This role is responsible for maintaining building systems, troubleshooting equipment issues, completing preventative maintenance, and ensuring facilities operate safely and efficiently.

This position is ideal for a well-rounded maintenance professional who enjoys solving problems, working with a variety of systems, and applying skills across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general facility maintenance.

What You'll Do

Facility Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems and facility equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance issues
  • Complete work orders accurately, efficiently, and professionally
  • Maintain facility infrastructure to ensure safety, reliability, and operational efficiency
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations and after-hours service needs when required

Electrical Systems

  • Repair and maintain lighting systems, fixtures, switches, and ballasts
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical outlets and Branch circuits
  • Assist with maintaining facility electrical systems and equipment
  • Safely identify and isolate electrical systems during maintenance and emergency situations

Plumbing Systems

  • Repair and maintain toilets, flush valves, faucets, and plumbing fixtures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve drainage and sewage issues
  • Perform preventative maintenance on plumbing systems
  • Locate, operate, and maintain isolation and shut-off valves

HVAC & Mechanical Systems

  • Operate and monitor HVAC equipment and building controls
  • Replace air filters and perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Lubricate motors, pumps, fans, and other mechanical equipment
  • Assist with HVAC repairs and equipment troubleshooting
  • Clean and maintain refrigeration and cooling equipment components

Carpentry & General Maintenance

  • Perform drywall repairs, wall patching, painting, and finishing work
  • Repair and assemble furniture and facility fixtures
  • Repair flooring, ceramic tile, roofing materials, and building finishes
  • Assist with facility improvement projects and equipment installations
  • Support event setups, furniture moves, and facility reconfigurations

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3–6 years of commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, educational, or facility maintenance experience
  • Skilled in at least two of the following trades:
    • Electrical
    • HVAC
    • Plumbing
    • Carpentry
    • Painting
    • General Maintenance
  • Working knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and facility operations
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and work order management systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in large commercial, institutional, healthcare, government, or industrial facilities
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Trade certifications or technical training in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or related disciplines
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and facility operations

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, lifting, kneeling, bending, and working with tools and equipment throughout the day. Candidates should be comfortable working indoors and outdoors and responding to maintenance issues in a variety of facility environments.

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday–Friday with occasional overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities as operational needs require.

Work Environment: Commercial and institutional facility setting with both indoor and outdoor responsibilities.



Pay Details: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
