Position Overview
We are seeking a mechanically inclined Machinist I to join a Tooling department in Norwich, CT. This position is responsible for cleaning, inspecting, disassembling, and completing changeovers on injection molds to support production schedules.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working with industrial machinery, automotive equipment, or in another hands-on mechanical environment. Previous injection mold experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities

Disassemble, clean, inspect, and prepare molds for production

Complete mold changeovers based on production requirements

Inspect molds and components for wear, damage, or other issues

Install changeover parts as required

Take measurements to determine wear and verify proper sizing of pins, bushings, and other components

Use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools as needed

Use power and hand tools to complete mechanical work

Maintain accurate mold records and tagging systems

Prepare completed molds and move them to designated staging areas

Follow production schedules and work instructions

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Minimum 1 year of experience working with industrial machinery and/or automotive equipment in a mechanical capacity

Strong mechanical aptitude

Ability to read and follow written work instructions

Basic math and reading comprehension skills

Comfortable using hand and power tools

Ability to work independently and stay on schedule

Injection mold experience preferred

Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred

Experience using micrometers and calipers preferred
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand and move throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods

Frequent bending and stooping
-
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

Pay Details: $27.00 per hour
