Lawn Maintenance Technician – Rock & Shrub Bed Specialist - Non Driving
Position Summary
The Lawn Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance and health of landscaped areas, with a primary focus on rock beds, shrub beds, and decorative landscape features. This role ensures properties remain clean, well-maintained, and visually appealing through routine upkeep and seasonal maintenance. May be required to drive company vehicle and pickup with plow attachment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain rock beds and shrub beds by removing weeds, trash, and debris
- Perform edging, raking, and leveling of rock and decorative ground cover
- Trim, prune, and shape shrubs, bushes, and small trees
- Apply mulch, rock, or soil as needed to maintain landscape design
- Identify and remove dead or damaged plant material
- Assist with planting and installation of shrubs, flowers, and landscape features
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, including walkways and surrounding grounds
- Operate basic landscaping tools and equipment (trimmers, blowers, rakes, shovels)
- Assist with seasonal clean-up, including spring and fall maintenance
- Follow all safety guidelines and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
- Prior landscaping or outdoor labor experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of plant and shrub care is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely
Work Environment
- Primarily outdoor work in residential, commercial, or industrial settings
- Exposure to weather elements such as heat, cold, wind, and dust
Pay Details: $18.00 to $23.00 per hour
