Junior Buyer
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our team. This position is responsible for the timely procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials while maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support daily operations. The Junior Buyer will assist with purchasing, inventory management, supplier relations, and the distribution of materials used for employee supplies and facility maintenance. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational efficiency through effective purchasing practices and cost management.
Key Responsibilities
Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety, and PPE requirements.
Prepare purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders up to $14,000 in accordance with company policies and negotiated terms.
Purchase materials, parts, supplies, equipment, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining quality standards.
Review purchase requests and ensure proper authorization to facilitate the acquisition of products and services.
Ensure supplier compliance with company safety and environmental requirements.
Generate, review, and analyze daily MRP reports.
Process MRP purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records.
Obtain vendor quotations and negotiate pricing and terms to achieve purchasing savings goals.
Resolve issues related to defective or unacceptable goods and services by working with vendors and internal stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
Maintain compliance within SAP and Full Step systems, including:
Creating new MRO crib items in SAP
Registering new vendors in Full Step
Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle count programs and discrepancy analysis.
Perform invoice reconciliation and resolve invoice discrepancies.
Support initiatives focused on reducing overall purchasing costs.
Assist with MRO crib operations, inventory counts, and daily inventory-related activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred.
SAP experience required.
Previous purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain experience preferred.
Manufacturing environment experience is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Positive attitude and self-motivated work ethic.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Details: $19.00 to $24.00 per hour
