Heavy Diesel Field Service Technician

If you enjoy troubleshooting complex diesel equipment, working independently, and getting out of the shop rather than spending your day on repetitive PMs, this could be a strong fit.

We're partnering with a well-established transportation and equipment services organization that is looking to add a Heavy Diesel Field Service Technician to their team. This position offers a mix of diagnostic work, emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, and customer interaction while remaining local to the area.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment
• Respond to roadside service calls and unscheduled breakdowns
• Complete preventative maintenance and DOT inspections
• Troubleshoot and repair engine, electrical, brake, HVAC, emissions, suspension, and trailer systems
• Maintain accurate repair and service documentation
• Manage inventory and parts utilized from service vehicle
• Communicate effectively with operators, dispatchers, and customers regarding equipment status and repairs

Equipment Serviced

• Heavy-duty commercial trucks
• Tractor-trailers and fleet vehicles
• Dry van and specialty trailers
• Municipal and commercial diesel equipment

Qualifications

• Previous diesel mechanic or heavy equipment repair experience
• Ability to perform diagnostics and repairs with limited supervision
• Experience working on trailers and heavy-duty truck systems preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Own basic mechanic hand tools
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
• A CDL is preferred, but not required. Candidates with strong diesel repair experience who are interested in obtaining a CDL may be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

• $25-$33/hour depending on experience
• Overtime opportunities available
• Primarily Monday-Friday daytime schedule
• Additional pay for occasional emergency or after-hours calls

Pay Details: $25.00 to $33.00 per hour
