We are looking for dependable, hard-working individuals to join our underground telecommunications construction team.
This is a hands-on field position supporting crews that install underground conduit, fiber optic facilities, and other telecommunications infrastructure throughout Southeast Michigan.
Construction experience is helpful, but it is not required. We are willing to train people who show up on time, work hard, work safely, and want to learn the underground construction trade.
For the right person, this position can be the starting point for advancement into equipment operation, underground construction, and other skilled positions.
As an Utility Laborer, you'll work directly alongside experienced crew members and equipment operators. Responsibilities include:
Assist underground construction crews with conduit and telecommunications infrastructure installation
Support excavation, trenching, boring, and restoration activities
Assist equipment operators and other crew members during underground construction
Handle conduit, pipe, materials, tools, and construction equipment
Perform digging, shoveling, backfilling, and other physical job-site work
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
Operate hand and power tools safely
Help maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Assist with job-site setup and cleanup
Follow all safety requirements at all times
Work outdoors in changing weather and job-site conditions
Perform additional duties needed to keep the crew productive and projects moving
What We're Looking For

Required:
Valid driver's license
Reliable transportation to report to work
Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor construction work
Ability to lift, carry, push, and move construction materials and equipment
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Willingness to learn and take direction
Commitment to working safely
Preferred, but not required:
Previous construction, utility, landscaping, excavation, or similar outdoor work experience
Experience using hand and power tools
Underground utility or telecommunications construction experience

Pay Details: $17.00 per hour
