Responsibilities for Communications Specialist include but are not limited to:

·       Partner with communications leadership to implement and support internal communications strategies.

·       Own content curation, copywriting, editing, and layout for site and organizational newsletters.

·       Serve as the primary point of contact for operational communications requests from departments such as Security, EHS, and Facilities.

·       Manage and maintain the site intranet, including drafting, editing, publishing content, and updating site structure and links.

·       Create compelling written content including:

·       Technical stories and employee features

·       Organizational and business updates

·       Event recaps and highlights

·       Leadership and people-focused communications

·       Support social media initiatives through content creation, posting, and audience engagement.

·       Track and analyze communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of newsletters, intranet content, and social media campaigns.

·       Maintain a strong onsite presence to understand site culture and ensure messaging resonates with both technical and non-technical employees.

·       Collaborate with and support the broader communications team on various projects and initiatives.

 

Candidates for Communications Specialist must meet the following requirements to be considered:

·       Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.

·       1-5 years of professional experience in communications, internal communications, marketing communications, or related areas.

·       Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

·       Strong content creation, editing, and storytelling abilities.

·       Ability to work independently while incorporating strategic business objectives into deliverables.

·       Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

·       Ability to support a hybrid work schedule with approximately 3 days per week onsite in Niskayuna, NY.

·       Experience supporting communications within a corporate, technical, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment.

·       Ability to simplify and communicate complex technical information for varied audiences.

·       Familiarity with intranet management, content management systems (CMS), and newsletter distribution platforms.

·       Strong organizational skills with an action-oriented and adaptable approach.

·       Experience managing communication metrics and reporting campaign effectiveness.

·       Knowledge of social media content management and audience engagement strategies.

Pay Details: $35.00 per hour
