Dental Billing Specialist

Location: Massapequa, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, fully onsite
Hours: Full-time; Fridays have an earlier end time
Salary: $60,000–$65,000 annually

My client, an established dental practice in Massapequa, NY, is looking to add a Dental Billing Specialist to their team. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with insurance and billing, and confident communicating directly with patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle dental insurance claims, process payments, verify coverage, and follow up on outstanding or denied claims

• Resolve billing questions and insurance-related issues in a timely and professional manner

• Maintain accurate financial and patient dental records using dental practice management software

• Review account information and ensure billing records are complete and up to date

• Communicate with patients regarding basic treatment plans, financial responsibilities, insurance coverage, and billing expectations

• Answer patient questions related to billing, payments, insurance, and appointments

• Partner closely with the front office and clinical teams to ensure a smooth patient experience

• Support general administrative and billing needs as required

Qualifications

• Prior dental billing, dental insurance, or dental office experience strongly preferred

• Familiarity with dental insurance claims, benefits verification, payments, and patient billing

• Experience using dental practice management software is preferred

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Comfortable discussing financial responsibilities with patients in a professional and empathetic manner

• Ability to work onsite in Massapequa Monday through Friday
