Hours: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4pm

Wages: Based on Experience $20.00

 

Position Overview:
As a Storeroom Customer Service Representative, you will be stationed at a client site, acting as the vital link between customer needs and supply chain execution. Your role is pivotal in sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory to meet operational demands efficiently delivering outstanding service, maintaining supplier relationships, and supporting continuous improvements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Procure materials and products—stock and non-stock—to satisfy current and forecasted customer demands in line with  purchasing strategies.

• Review and approve inventory forecasts and daily replenishment reports generated by Vallen’s inventory management systems.

• Expedite or de-expedite orders to ensure timely delivery, optimizing inventory levels.

• Place purchase requisitions and negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery standards.

• Monitor supplier performance, coordinate returns and replacements, and resolve quality or delivery issues promptly.

• Communicate status updates and resolve discrepancies with vendors while maintaining strong supplier and customer relationships.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and document KPIs to support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and LEAN practices, maintaining a professional, clean, and safe work environment.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related fields preferred.

• At least 1 year of procurement or supply chain experience preferred.

• CPM certification is a plus.

• Strong customer service skills, with proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and ERP systems.

• Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Experience with metals manufacturing or blueprint reading is a plus.

 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• This is an on-site position within a manufacturing environment, with potential exposure to dirt, heat, cold, and other conditions.

• Safety PPE (including steel-toe shoes and safety eyewear) is required at all times.

• Occasional overtime and short-notice hours may be necessary.

• The role involves long periods at a computer and some physical activity, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
