CT/X-Ray Technologist Pay Range: $70,720–$105,040 annually, based on experience Employment Type: Permanent / Full-Time Setting: 25-bed Critical Access Hospital Location: Southern Minnesota Schedule: Weekend-based schedule with rotating weekends and holidays Overtime: Paid after 48 hours Position Overview We are seeking an experienced CT/X-Ray Technologist to join the Imaging Department of a small, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Southern Minnesota. This position offers the opportunity to work in a close-knit rural healthcare environment while providing a broad range of diagnostic imaging services. The technologist will perform CT and general radiology procedures and provide C-Arm support in the operating room for pain injection procedures. The Imaging Department is located within the hospital and serves the hospital, emergency department, and surrounding community. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in a small-facility environment and responding to a variety of imaging needs. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic CT and general X-ray examinations according to established protocols and physician orders. Operate CT and radiographic imaging equipment safely and effectively. Provide C-Arm imaging support in the operating room for pain injection procedures. Prepare and position patients for examinations while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Obtain high-quality diagnostic images while following established imaging protocols. Verify patient information, clinical history, and examination orders. Follow radiation safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements. Monitor patients during imaging procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, radiologists, surgical staff, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate patient and examination documentation. Perform quality-control procedures and identify equipment or image-quality concerns. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment. Participate in scheduled call coverage and respond appropriately to urgent imaging needs. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Required Qualifications ARRT certification – Required. BLS certification – Required. Demonstrated competency in CT and general X-ray imaging. Ability to perform or learn C-Arm procedures in an operating-room environment. Strong patient-care and communication skills. Ability to work independently in a small Critical Access Hospital. Ability to respond effectively to emergency and urgent imaging requests. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality diagnostic images. Imaging Equipment The Imaging Department utilizes a variety of diagnostic imaging equipment, including: Siemens Perspective 64-slice CT scanner Shimadzu portable X-ray unit Delta General X-ray room with DR technology Schedule & Call Requirements The position follows a weekend-focused schedule: Friday: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, followed by call until 7:00 AM Saturday Saturday: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, followed by call until 7:00 AM Sunday Sunday: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, followed by call until 7:00 AM Monday Rotating weekends and holidays Call coverage is required Overtime after 48 hours Schedule details may vary based on departmental and patient-care needs. Compensation Annual Salary: $70,720–$105,040, based on experience The position offers a competitive salary based on qualifications, credentials, and relevant imaging experience. Overtime is paid for hours worked over 48 hours. Employee Amenities Fully furnished apartment attached to the hospital is available for call coverage. Free meals are provided by the hospital kitchen three times per day, including weekends. No specific scrub color or uniform color requirements.
