A leading aerospace and advanced manufacturing organization is seeking a Composite Assembly Technician to join its team in Plainview, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with manufacturing or assembly experience who enjoy hands-on work, precision craftsmanship, and working with advanced materials in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble composite and electromechanical components using specialized fixtures and tooling
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and manufacturing instructions
Use calipers, scales, and other measuring tools to verify specifications and tolerances
Drill composite materials using air hand drills, drill presses, and drill fixtures
Drill and countersink aluminum plates for rivet installation
Sand, shape, and finish composite materials to quality standards
Install hardware, including nut plates and cherry rivets, using hand tools and riveters
Mix and apply chemical adhesives according to work instructions
Install manufactured harnesses and perform basic crimping work
Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality and accuracy
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
One or more years of manufacturing, assembly, production, or related experience preferred
Experience working with composite materials is a plus
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions in English
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, drills, riveters, and measuring devices
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to perform basic math calculations, including fractions and decimals
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing and use of hands throughout the workday
Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds as needed
Ability to wear required safety equipment, including particle masks when necessary
Strong visual acuity, including close vision and depth perception for detailed assembly work

Pay Details: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour
