Job Title: Collections Specialist
Join the team as a Collections Specialist and play a vital role in maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring timely payments. As a key part of our clients industry leader in water, hygiene, and infection prevention solutions—you’ll be responsible for locating delinquent accounts, engaging with customers, and facilitating payment recovery through professional communication and negotiation skills.
Position: Collection Specialists
Hours: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm
Location: Naperville IL
Wages: $25.00 per hour
Duration: 6 months
About the Role:
This position involves reaching out to customers via mail, phone, or in person to address overdue accounts, negotiating suitable repayment plans, and maintaining accurate records of all collection activities. Your efforts will help support company mission to optimize operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact across various sectors, while providing you with a dynamic environment for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and accurately post payments to customer accounts.
Track and monitor delinquent accounts, proactively engaging with customers.
Conduct conversations with customers to understand reasons for overdue payments and review credit terms.
Persuade customers to settle outstanding balances, including credit accounts, damage claims, or returned merchandise.
Establish and arrange payment schedules tailored to customers’ financial situations.
Document all collection efforts, maintaining detailed and accurate records.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or GED required.
2-5 years of experience in collections or similar customer account management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, customer service, and negotiation abilities.
Capable of working independently, managing time effectively, and prioritizing tasks.
Proficient in documenting customer interactions and account details accurately.
Expertise in debt recovery techniques and familiarity with relevant policies and regulations.
Prior experience with Microsoft Word, collections software, or related applications is a plus.
Demonstrates basic mentoring skills for teamwork and performance feedback.

Pay Details: $28.00 per hour
