Assignment Details

  • Location: Tarpon Springs, FL 34689

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

  • Employment Type: Minimum 3-month temp/contract role (possible extension)

·         Pay Rate: $24.34/hr.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, families, providers, and staff.

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information.

  • Administer medications and immunizations under the direction of a physician.

  • Perform EKGs, ear irrigations (ear washes), and other clinical procedures.

  • Assist physicians with minor office procedures and treatments.

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and physician instructions.

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection under the direction of a physician or advanced practice provider.

  • Draw, process, spin, prepare, and document laboratory specimens while maintaining laboratory logs.

  • Coordinate with independent laboratory services to ensure timely specimen processing.

  • Contact patients with physician-directed test results and scheduling instructions.

  • Answer incoming telephone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and triage clinical calls appropriately.

  • Accurately document patient care activities and maintain medical records.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a Medical Assistant diploma or equivalent relevant medical assisting experience.

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross), or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is a plus.

  • Proven phlebotomy and venipuncture experience.

  • Two or more years of back-office medical assisting experience for candidates without an accredited MA diploma.

  • Experience performing injections, EKGs, specimen processing, and patient triage.

  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a busy outpatient clinic.

Pay Details: $24.34 per hour
