Central Sterile Technician

Adecco Healthcare and Life Sciences is currently hiring for a Central Sterile Technician role for their client in Newark, NJ location.

Job Type: Minimum 2-month+ temp role (for maternity coverage - possible extension)
Shift Hours: Monday-Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm
Pay:  $23.00-25.00/hr. – depending on your level of experience

Roles and Responsibilities –

·         Operates and monitors steam Autoclaves ,sonic washers and other sterilizing equipment. Keeps records of load completed ,items in load and maintenance procedures performed .

·         Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments ,equipment, assembles wraps and sterilizers cassettes ,trays and instruments . Follows proper standard precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas.

·         Monitors biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and equipment .

·         Maintains necessary supply levels in sterile storage areas .

·         Verifies that equipment functions properly ,requisitions for equipment maintenance ,repair or replacement and removes defective equipment .

·         Assists with maintaining established departmental policies and procedures ,objectives and quality improvement , safety and environmental and infection control standards .

·         Examines equipment to detect leak, worn or loose parts or other indications of disrepair .

·         Maintain storage rooms , participates in quality assurance activities as assigned .

Required Qualification / Experience-

·         One year of experience in healthcare, medical or dental setting or a closely related setting using sterile procedures.

·         New Jersey central service certification is required .

·         Knowledge of decontamination , sterilization , assembly packing and monitoring of instrumentation.
