Sample Management / Laboratory Technician

Location: Covington, KY
Pay: $19.55/hour
Schedule: Third Shift — Wednesday–Sunday, 12:00 AM–8:30 AM
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Sample Management / Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations in Covington, KY. This entry-level position provides training to develop the skills needed for sample and standard handling, inventory tracking, documentation, and laboratory support.

The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, comfortable following detailed procedures, and able to work effectively with limited supervision in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform sample and inventory handling, including receipt, check-in, login, labeling, inventory, transport, and check-out.

  • Complete administrative tasks supporting daily laboratory operations.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed tracking and documentation in accordance with SOPs.

  • Communicate task status and issues to supervisors and appropriate laboratory staff.

  • Learn and follow SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements.

  • Support responses to environmental unit alarms and participate in on-call responsibilities when required.

  • Complete daily assignments accurately, efficiently, and safely.

  • Maintain a professional and collaborative working relationship with laboratory team members.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Relevant academic, vocational, or technical training is a plus.

  • 0–1 year of relevant experience preferred; equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.

  • Ability to learn and follow detailed procedures and laboratory requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to maintain clear and organized documentation.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.

Schedule

Wednesday–Sunday | 12:00 AM–8:30 AM (Third Shift)

The hiring manager will conduct phone interviews rather than direct in-person interviews.



Pay Details: $19.55 per hour
