Accounting Specialist

Our manufacturing client is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support payroll, AR/AP, and day-to-day accounting functions in the Cookeville, TN area.
Key Responsibilities:
Process weekly and/or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time.
Maintain payroll records and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
Create customer invoices and apply incoming payments.
Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collections.
Reconcile customer accounts and investigate billing discrepancies.
Prepare account reconciliations and assist with month-end close.
Maintain accurate financial records and support internal audits.
Generate reports and ensure data integrity within accounting systems.
Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll and billing issues.
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in payroll, AR/AP, or general accounting.
Experience processing payroll, including payroll taxes, garnishments, benefit deductions, and regulatory compliance.
Knowledge of general accounting principles and accounts receivable/payable processes.
Strong Excel skills and accounting & payroll software experience (ADP/SAP/Oracle preferred)
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Client is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Pay Details: $45,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
