CNC Machinist – Large-Part Machining

Location: Livonia, MI
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Employment Type: Direct Hire

Adecco Permanent Recruitment Team has partnered with a leading precision manufacturing company in Livonia, MI to identify an experienced CNC Machinist.

This position is ideal for a skilled machinist with experience operating 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC equipment and working with large, precision-machined components. The company manufactures complex parts for the plastic injection molding industry, with components ranging from approximately 30 to 70 inches in diameter. Aerospace machining experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC milling and/or turning machines

  • Run multiple CNC machines simultaneously when feasible

  • Machine hard metals including Inconel, Titanium and Stainless Steel

  • Read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets and CNC programs

  • Use Fanuc controls to make program offsets and machine adjustments

  • Load and position large parts and fixtures using hoists

  • Read tool sheets and set up tooling for production runs

  • Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges and swing gauges

  • Operate right-angle heads as required

  • Apply GD&T principles and maintain tight tolerances measured in thousandths of an inch

  • Follow quality and safety procedures while meeting production requirements

  • Support continuous improvement and a team-oriented manufacturing environment

  • Work overtime as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Aerospace machining experience strongly preferred

  • Experience machining large, complex components preferred

  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling and machine setup

  • Experience with Fanuc controls, offsets and machine adjustments

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets and CNC programs

  • Strong math and measurement skills

  • Proficiency with precision measuring equipment

  • Knowledge of GD&T and tight-tolerance machining

  • Ability to safely work around large parts, machine platforms and hoisting equipment

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed

Pay Details: $28.00 to $34.00 per hour
