Preparing for the interview – online or in person 

Do’s 

• Be punctual – being late means wasting the other person’s time. 
• Wear clean, appropriate clothing (including glasses and shoes) and maintain good hygiene. 
• Greet your interviewer with a handshake, a friendly look, and maintain eye contact throughout the conversation. 
• Use short, clear sentences, articulate well, and please: don’t interrupt. 
• Ask questions, especially if you’re unsure or haven’t understood something properly. 
• Phones stay in your bag, chewing gum goes in the bin. Before the interview.

• Make sure you won’t be disturbed. 
• Choose a calm, neutral background. 
• Position your camera correctly. 
• Test your internet connection and join the Teams/Zoom meeting on time.
