Sample Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sample Coordinator to support laboratory operations by managing the receipt, tracking, storage, and movement of samples and laboratory materials while ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with laboratory support, inventory, logistics, or sample management experience who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Location: Middleton, WI
Employment Type: Minimum 1-year temp/contract role
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Pay Rate: $20.20/hr.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive, log, label, inventory, and track laboratory samples and standards.
• Coordinate the transport, storage, checkout, return, and disposal of samples according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate sample status and updates with laboratory personnel.
• Assist laboratory staff with sample handling procedures and provide guidance on SOP compliance.
• Complete deviation reports, investigations, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) documentation as needed.
• Review laboratory requests for accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
• Support training initiatives related to SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and sample storage requirements.
• Respond to environmental storage alarms and participate in on-call responsibilities when required.
• Perform all duties safely, accurately, and within established timelines.
Qualifications
Required
• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience in laboratory support, sample management, inventory control, logistics, or a similar environment.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
• Experience working in a laboratory or regulated environment.
• Knowledge of inventory control systems and sample tracking.
• Familiarity with laboratory documentation, SOPs, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with process improvement initiatives or CAPA documentation.
