Position Summary

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) supports the daily operations of the surgical suite while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. This role assists with coordinating operating room activities, supporting physicians and surgical teams, maintaining regulatory compliance, and promoting a safe environment for patients and staff.

The OR RN serves as a patient advocate and liaison throughout the surgical process while collaborating closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, technicians, and leadership to ensure efficient and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, competent, and high-quality perioperative nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards.

• Assist in the daily coordination and workflow of the operating room.

• Support physicians and surgical staff during operative procedures.

• Monitor patient status and communicate relevant information to physicians, anesthesia providers, staff, patients, and family members as appropriate.

• Promote and maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards.

• Assist with oversight and guidance of Operating Room Technicians and support staff.

• Monitor inventory levels, supplies, equipment availability, and expiration dates; communicate needs to leadership as appropriate.

• Serve as a patient liaison throughout the surgical experience.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and organizational standards.

• Foster positive working relationships across clinical and operational teams.

• Support a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional patient care.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent RN education required

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required

• Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience preferred

Licensure & Certifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required

• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association required

• CNOR or other perioperative specialty certification preferred

Pay Details: $50.00 to $57.00 per hour
